Rosewood Avenue is a quiet cul-de-sac on the south side of Aberdeen, close to Altens and Aberdeen city centre. The official name of the postal area is Nigg, although the property itself is really part of the area called Redmoss. Number 12 is the last house in the cul-de-sac so enjoys great privacy and no through traffic, and there is a driveway with space for two cars at the front of the property. The rear garden is surrounded by high walls and adjacent to the house on two sides are two large old houses with large gardens - this all enhances the feeling of privacy, safety and security.

It is very close to the centre of town (max 10mins drive), but also surprisingly close to the country. Directly adjacent to Rosewood Avenue you find Kincorth Hill Local Nature Reserve, known locally the 'Gramps'. This woodland area is popular with walkers, joggers and dog-walkers and offers fabulous views over the city. If you're lucky you might even spot a roe deer! You can see the house's proximity to the nature reserve in the satellite photos below.

There are also country lanes and roads nearby suitable for cyclists, joggers or walkers. From Rosewood Avenue turn right then right again along Redmoss Road and within a minute you will find yourself on a quiet country road which runs around the back of Loirston Loch.

Although it is only a maximum 10 minutes drive to the centre of town, there are also plenty of facilities on your doorstep. There is a small shop which sells newspapers, milk, rolls, etc a few minutes walk away on Wellington Road. There is also a Shell garage on Wellington Road which is also a few minutes walk away which sells everyday essentials. There is a fairly large Tesco supermarket (Tesco Aberdeen South) which also has a Post Office and is less than 5 minutes drive north on Wellington Road. This store is open from 7am - 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am - 8pm on Sunday. Next door to Tesco is a branch of Lidl which is open 8am - 10pm daily. Less than 5 minutes drive south on Wellington Road takes you to a large Makro wholesale discount store (free membership for anyone who purchases on behalf of a company or for their own business). The Bridge of Dee retail complex with Boots, Sainsbury's, Asda, Comet and B&Q is 5-10 minutes drive away.

There is a large 4* hotel, Thistle Altens, just 10 minutes walk south of Rosewood Avenue, which includes the excellent Otium health and leisure club with gym, swimming pool and spa. Even closer is the Wellington Hotel, a small hotel and bar which serves pub food.

The area is also close to Shell and Total oil companies and many other oil related business at Altens and Tullos.

Regular local buses into Aberdeen centre and rural buses heading south can be boarded at stops just around the corner.
